NEW YORK, NY (June 2011)—AllyKatzz.com—the premier media company for tween-teen girls—announces that Hearts For Hearts Girls, from Playmates Toys Inc., will join in the UN International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration on August 11th. This monumental event is hosted by actress and UN Youth Champion, Monique Coleman, and powered by AllyKatzz. The event allows girls a platform to speak out and be heard on important issues in the world.
“It is with great excitement and pride that Hearts For Hearts Girls is partnering with AllyKatzz and Monique Coleman to make this event possible,” said Gina Beebe, Senior Vice President of Playmates Toys Inc. and co-creator of the Hearts For Hearts Girls dolls. “The mission, which focuses on the empowerment of young women working toward positive social change, aligns seamlessly with the efforts of Hearts For Hearts Girls.”
Hearts For Hearts Girls is a charitable doll line, which features six different dolls each representing a girl who is working to make a difference in her community and culture. Hearts For Hearts Girls seeks to demonstrate to youngsters that they can make a difference at any age. A portion of proceeds of the purchase of Hearts For Hearts Girls dolls is donated to their charitable partner, World Vision, a nonprofit that helps children from that doll’s country or region. To further educate girls about the underdeveloped areas of the world and the power of girls, the Hearts For Hearts Girls website, www.hearts4heartsgirls.com, features learning activities and games as well as intriguing stories of other girls making a difference in the world.
Upon the conclusion of her UN International Year of Youth world tour in August 2011, Monique Coleman, the first-ever UN Year of The Youth Champion, will host this International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration at UN Headquarters in NYC. The UN International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration will begin at the UN with a morning summit session featuring 192 female delegates ages 11-24, reflecting the number of members of the General Assembly at the UN. These delegates will be selected from various organizations that support girls and young women, among them a group Monique encountered during her world tour. Attendees will include young women who have played leadership roles in their communities and who are committed to the ideals of the UN and the empowerment of young people working toward positive social change. The morning schedule features keynote speakers and members of the press who will listen to and discuss issues that are important to girls and young women.
The afternoon program, The International Year of Youth Changemakers Sessions, hosted by Monique Coleman and powered by AllyKatzz—will continue at Alliance Francaise and engage girls in hands-on leadership activities and breakout sessions. Here the girls will engage with Hearts For Hearts Girls and World Vision by assembling "Promise Packs" for needy children, including a personal note from the girls. The session will be featured on Comcast Kabillion GirlsRule! TV on Demand, and air the positive activities and sessions as the girls partake in them.
